As a restaurant that owes everything we do to Japanese culture, and we are greatly saddened by the destruction caused by the earthquake and ongoing challenges Japan faces.
We want to help. This Monday and Tuesday Boom will be donating 10% of our sales to the Red Cross Japan earthquake and Pacific tsunami relief.

We hope it doesn’t hurt boom breakfast fans too much, but we are putting our breakfast on Winter break. After running breakfast for a while at our University Village location it became clear that we could make our menu items with ease for a small group of diners, but if we ever filled-up it was too challenging based on the equipment we have (which was made for noodle making more than pancakes!).
So, we’re going back to the drawing board to see if there are some fast firing and delicious offerings we can create using the equipment we have. Stay tuned. If we come up with some items to be proud of we will let you know!

This Friday night (the 4th) join us at our Capitol Hill location as we party with Firestone Brewery (a favorite of ours in boom-land). We are going to help them celebrate their new Double Jack IPA and would love to have our loyal boom peeps join us.
Here is the lowdown on the new brew from our friends at Firestone:
Double Jack IPA is our first ever Imperial IPA. It features a big malty middle to cloak the high alcohol and mouth puckering hop bitterness. Huge tangerine, grapefruit and juicy fruit aroma blossom over the herbal blue basil and malt earthiness of this aggressive beer. Best enjoyed in moderation.

Okay,
If there is one sacred truth about serving and eating ramen it’s that it needs to be piping hot. So, when we saw this fancy little fan from Japan that is designed to cool your noodles we were left just a little confused. This clearly must have been invented by someone who never quite figured out how the art of slurping is what keeps you from burning your mouth. Regardless…we want one.

Big, bad nebraska is coming to town to try and tame our Dawgs so our “12th man” could be the difference in the game. For all of you die-hards out there come down before that game and tailgate with us from 10am to game time. Woof woof!

It’s a known fact in the land of Boom that anyone would be hard pressed to find a bigger Husky fan than Chef Hunt. If he hadn’t chosen the profession of cuisine we are sure he would have taken any job available assisting the Dawgs. Needless to say, when the decision was made to open in the U-Village it was clear we were going to hold a tailgate party for every home game.
More details to come next week, but if you are going to the Syracuse game at 4pm, come on down to boom. We promise some great grub and drink before what will surely be a win for the Dawgs.

Okay, a grand opening announcement without a picture to go along with it is just wrong, but fear not we will have some soon. We had a fun soft opening yesterday in the day followed by an opening to the public which was great primer for our first full day of being open. Hope to see everyone soon.
